Spicy Thai Steak

Thai steak is generally more spicy than traditional steaks as the chicken or beef is marinated in a paste of red-chillies and spices for quite some time.  It is served with potato wedges or fries, broccoli and peas which add a nice colour to the dish.

Ingredients for marination:

  1. Chicken breast 2
  2. Mustard powder 2 tsp.
  3. Worcestershire sauce 1tbsp.
  4. Ginger garlic paste 1tsp.
  5. Crushed black pepper 1tsp.
  6. Salt to taste
  7.  Oil 1tsp.


  • Marinade the chicken with mustard powder,ginger garlic paste, worcestershire sauce, black pepper, salt and oil.
  • Leave aside for an hour.

Ingredients for sauce:

  1. Chili paste 2 tsp.
  2. Chili sauce 2 tbsp.
  3. Tomato puree 3 tbsp.
  4. Chicken stock 1/2 cup
  5. Ginger (chopped) 1/2tsp
  6. Garlic (chopped) 1/2tsp
  7. Soy sauce 1 1/2 tsp
  8. Water 2tbsp

Method for sauce:

  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add ginger and garlic,fry for few seconds.
  • Then add chicken stock, chilly sauce, chilly paste, tomato puree and soy sauce.
  • Cook till it gets thick.

Ingredients for steak:

  1. Butter 2 tbsp.
  2. Oil 1 tbsp.

Method for steak:

  • Heat butter and oil.
  • Pan fry steak for 8-10 minutes.
  • Add the marination.
  • Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  • In a dish take out the steak and pour the sauce over it.
  • Serve with steamed vegetables and fries or mash potatoes.
