Karachi Chicken Karahi

A well known dish from  Khyber Pakhtunkhwa which is cooked on high heat so that the juices of the meat are sealed. Best to be eaten  with  Kandahari Naan.


  1. Chicken 1 kg.
  2. Tomatoes 8
  3. Green chilies whole 6-8
  4. Green chili paste 2 tsp.
  5. Ginger garlic paste 2 tsp.
  6. Red chili powder 1 tsp.
  7. All spice powder 1/2 tsp.
  8. Oil 1 cup
  9. Salt 1 1/2 tsp.


  • In a wok heat oil add chicken with ginger garlic paste , salt, sliced tomatoes, red chili powder and green chili paste.
  • Cook till the tomatoes are  soft and oil separates.
  • Then  add green chili whole and all spice powder.
  • Cover and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  • Garnish with ginger.
  • Serve with naan and raita.
