Pav Bhaji


Ingredients for pav:

  1. Bread (pav) 6-8
  2. Butter 1 tbsp.
  3. Coriander leaves (finely chopped) 1 tbsp.
  4. Dried fenugreek 1/2 tsp.
  5. Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp.
  6. Pav bhaji masala 1/4 tsp.
  7. Red chili powder 1/4 tsp.

Method for pav:

  • On the tawa (flat pan) put butter, ginger garlic paste, coriander leaves, pav bhaji masala and dried fenugreek.
  • Mix them.
  • Horizontally split the pav’s.
  • Place them on the masala so that they absorb the masala and get soft.

Ingredients for bhaji:

  1. Onion (finely chopped) 1
  2. Tomato (finely chopped) 2
  3. Ginger garlic paste 1tsp.
  4. Coriander powder 1/2 tsp.
  5. Pav bhaji masala 1 tsp.
  6. Lemon juice 1tbsp.
  7. Butter 2 tbsp.
  8. Salt to taste
  9. Potatoes 3
  10. Green peas 1/2 cup
  11. Carrots 1/2 cup
  12. Beans 1/2 cup
  13. Capsicum 1/2 cup
  14. Cauliflower 1/2 cup
  15. Dried fenugreek 1tsp.

Method for bhaji:

  • Heat tawa (flat pan).
  • Place diced capsicums in the center and add 1/2 cup water to make them soft.
  • Add chopped tomatoes, boiled potatoes and 1/2 cup water to it to soften.
  • Put green chilies and boiled peas.
  • Sprinkle red chili powder, pav bhaji masala, ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder and little more water to soften the vegetables.
  • Add butter and stir for little while.
  • Mash the vegetable still it gets mashy.
  • Add little water and brig it to boil.
  • Sprinkle pav bhaji masala salt and chopped coriander leaves.
  • Keep mashing and stirring till the bhaji thickens and oil separates.
  • Put little more butter chopped onions,ginger garlic paste,red chili powder, pav bhaji masala,dried fenugreek , chopped coriander leaves and lemon.
  • Mix them in the bhaji.
  • Stir for 1 minute.

Take out the bhaji in a dish and serve with chopped onions, lemon wedges, chunk of butter and pav.
