Peas Pulao (Matar Pulao)


  1. Rice 2 cups
  2. Peas 1 cup
  3. Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp.
  4. Onion (sliced) 1
  5. Cumin seeds 1 tsp.
  6. Whole black pepper 8-10
  7. Cloves 6-8
  8. Black cardamom 2
  9. Cinnamon small piece 1
  10. Oil 2 tbsp.


  • Soak rice for half an hour.
  • In a pan heat oil.
  • Add sliced onions and fry till light brown.
  • Put peas, ginger garlic paste, cumin seeds, cloves, black cardamom, whole black pepper and cinnamon.
  • Add 1 cup water.
  • Cook for 5 minutes.
  • Now add rice, salt and enough water to cook the rice.
  • When the water dries lower the flame and leave on dum for 5 minutes.
  • Close the flame and leave it for 2 minutes.
  • Take out in a dish and serve with Kofta curry, chicken curry etc.
