Kofta kadhi


Ingredients for kadhi:

  1. Yogurt 1/2 kg.
  2. Gram flour (Besan) 4 tbsp.
  3. Red chili powder 2 tsp.
  4. Coriander powder 1 1/2 tsp.
  5. Turmeric powder 1 tsp.
  6. Onion (sliced) 1
  7. Water 2 jugs

Ingredients for kofta’s:

  1. Mince meat 1/2 kg
  2. Onion 1
  3. Green chilies 4
  4. Ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp.
  5. Mint leaves 2 tbsp.
  6. Cumin seeds 1 tsp.
  7. All spice powder (Garam masala powder) 1/2 tsp.
  8. Red chili powder 1 tsp.
  9. Salt 1 tsp.
  10. Gram flour (Besan)1 tbsp.

Ingredients for baghar:

  1. Oil 2 tbsp.
  2. Curry leaves 8-10
  3. Whole red chilies 8
  4. Cumin seeds 1 tsp.
  5. Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp.
  6. Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp.

Method:

  • In a pan put yogurt.
  • Add chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, salt, onion and gram flour.
  • Mix well with the spoon.
  • Add water and mix again so no lumps are form.
  • Put on fire, consistently stir while cooking till it starts to boil.
  • Lower the heat and cook for 45-60 minutes.
  • Put mince, onion, ginger garlic paste, green chilies, mint leaves, red chili powder, all spice powder, salt, gram flour and cumin seeds in a chopper and process them together.
  • Make small balls of the mince.
  • Put them in the Kadhi one by one.
  • Do not stir.
  • Cook for 20 minutes.
  • For baghar heat oil in the frying pan.
  • Add whole red chilies, curry leaves, cumin seeds and mustard seeds.
  • Cook till it starts to crackle.
  • Close the fire and add turmeric powder.
  • Fry for few seconds.
  • Pour on top of the kofta kadhi.
  • Take out in a dish serve with boiled rice.
