Fish in hot garlic sauce


Ingredients for marination:

  1. Fish (fillet) 1/2 kg.
  2. Salt 1/2 tsp.
  3. Black pepper 1/2 tsp.
  4. Soy sauce 1 tbsp.
  5. Vinegar 1 tbsp.

Ingredients for batter:

  1. Egg 1
  2. Corn flour 2 tbsp.
  3. Flour 2 tbsp.
  4. Salt a pinch
  5. Baking powder 1/2 tsp.
  6. Oil for deep frying

Ingredients for sauce:

  1. Green chillies (chopped) 8
  2. Garlic (chopped) 8 cloves
  3. Soy sauce 1 tbsp.
  4. Chilli sauce 1 tsp.
  5. Corn flour 1 tbsp.
  6. Chicken powder 1/2 tsp.
  7. Chicken stock or water 1 cup
  8. Oil 1 tbsp.

Method:

  • Marinade the fish with salt, soy sauce, black pepper and vineger for half an hour.
  • In a bowl take egg, salt, corn flour, flour and baking powder.
  • Mix them together to form a batter (add little cold water if required).
  • Dip fish in the batter and deep fry till golden brown.
  • For sauce: Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add green chillies and garlic.
  • Fry and add chicken stock or water.
  • Bring to boil.
  • Add soy sauce and chicken powder.
  • Dissolve corn flour in little water.
  • Add it to the boiling stock and cook till the sauce gets thick.
  • Place the fried fish in a serving dish and pour sauce over it.
  • Serve with rice.
