Anda Cholay (Egg with Chickpeas)


  1. Chickpeas 1/2 kg.
  2. Eggs (boiled) 6
  3. Red chilli powder 2tsp.
  4. All spice powder 1 tsp.
  5. Roasted cumin seeds (crushed) 1 tsp.
  6. Roasted coriander (crushed) 1 tsp.
  7. Salt 1 1/2 tsp.
  8. Oil 4 tbsp.
  9. Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp.
  10. Meetha soda (Sodium Bi-carbonate) 1/8 tsp. + a pinch
  11. Fresh coriander (chopped) 1tbsp.
  12. Green chillies (chopped) 1 tsp.


  • Soak chickpeas with 1/8 tsp. meetha soda for 6-7 hours.
  • Wash and boil them till tender.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and fry for few seconds.
  • Then put red chilli powder, all spice powder and turmeric powder.
  • Cook for few seconds.
  • Add boiled chickpeas, salt, roasted crushed cumin and coriander.
  • When it starts to boil add a pinch of meetha soda.
  • Cover and cook for half an hour.
  • Take out in a dish, put boiled eggs on top and garnish with fresh coriander and green chillies.
  • Serve with naan.
