Tinday Ki Sabzi (Apple Gourd’s Sabzi)


  1. Round gourd or apple gourd (tinday) 1/2 kg.
  2. Onions (sliced) 2
  3. Tomatoes (sliced) 3
  4. Green chillies 4
  5. Red chilli powder 1 tsp.
  6. Turmeric 1/2 tsp.
  7. Onion seeds a pinch
  8. Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp.
  9. Salt 1 tsp.
  10. Oil 2 tbsp.


  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add onions and fry till light brown.
  • Add tomatoes, red chilli powder and turmeric.
  • Cook for 4 to 5 minutes or till the tomatoes are soft.
  • Add tinday, salt, cumin seeds and onion seeds.
  • Mix, cover and cook for 15 minutes.
  • Add green chillies.
  • Cover and cook for another 5 minutes.
  • Take out in a dish and serve with roti.
