Fish Chilli Dry

Ingredients for marination:

  1. Fish fillet with skin 1/2 kg.
  2. Light soy sauce 1 tbsp.
  3. Black pepper 1/2 tsp.
  4. Salt 1/4 tsp.
  5. Sesame seed oil 1 tsp.
  6. Vinegar 1 tbsp.

Ingredients for batter:

  1. Egg 1/2
  2. Corn flour 2 tbsp.
  3. Flour 1 tbsp.
  4. Salt and pepper a pinch each
  5. Oil for deep frying

Ingredients for sauce:

  1. Oil 1 tsp.
  2. Ginger (crushed) 1/2 tsp.
  3. Garlic (crushed) 1/2 tsp.
  4. Chicken stock 1cup
  5. Dark soy sauce 1 tbsp.
  6. Chilli sauce 1 tsp.
  7. Green chillies (cut length wise) 8
  8. Spring onions (cut length wise) 2 tbsp.
  9. Corn flour 1 tbsp.


  • Marinade the fish with salt, light soy sauce, sesame seed oil, black pepper powder and vinegar for half an hour.
  • In a bowl mix together egg, corn flour, flour, salt and pepper to form batter.
  • Take out the fish from the marination and put them in the batter.
  • Coat the fish with the batter evenly.
  • Deep fry the fish until golden and crisp.
  •  In a wok heat oil add ginger and garlic.
  • Fry for few seconds.
  • Put chicken stock.
  • When it starts to boil add green chillies, dark soy sauce and chilli sauce.
  • Dissolve corn flour in little water.
  • Add it to the wok to thicken the sauce.
  • Put fried fish.
  • Toss and add spring onions.
  • Take out in a dish serve with egg fried rice.
