Chinese Ginger Chicken


Ingredients for marination:

  1. Boneless chicken breast (cut into small pieces) 1
  2. Soy sauce 1 tbsp.
  3. Egg 1 tbsp.
  4. Corn flour 2 tbsp.
  5. Black pepper powder 1/4 tsp.
  6. Salt 1/2 tsp.
  7. Sesame seed oil 1 tsp.

Ingredients for sauce:

  1. Cabbage (shredded) 3 tbsp.
  2. Carrots (julienned) 2 tbsp.
  3. Spring onions (chopped) 1 tbsp.
  4. Button mushrooms (chopped) 4
  5. Ginger (crushed and chopped) 1 tsp.
  6. Soy sauce 1 tbsp.
  7. Chilli sauce 2 tbsp.
  8. Chicken stock 1 cup
  9. Salt 1/2 tsp.
  10. Corn flour 1 tbsp.
  11. Oil 2 tbsp.

Method:

  • Marinade the chicken with soy sauce, salt, black pepper powder, sesame seed oil, egg and corn flour.
  • Leave for 10 minutes.
  • Add cabbage, carrots, spring onions and mushrooms to the marinated chicken.
  • Heat oil in a wok.
  • Add marinade chicken and vegetables.
  • Fry for 2 minutes.
  • Remove them from the oil.
  • In the same wok put ginger and fry for few seconds.
  • In the chicken stock add chilli sauce, soy sauce, salt and cornflour.
  • Add it to the wok.
  • Cook till it gets thick.
  • Add fried chicken and vegetables.
  • Cook for 1 minutes.
  • Take out in a dish and serve with fried rice.
