Ingredients:
- Fish 1 kg.
- Salt 1 1/2 tsp.
- Green chilies 10
- Garlic 10 cloves
- Red chili powder 2 tbsp.
- Coriander powder 2 tsp.
- Crushed red chili 1 tsp.
- Cumin seeds 1 tsp.
- Turmeric 1/2 tsp.
- Tamarind 1/2 cup (soaked in 2 1/2 glasses of water)
- Onion 1
- Dried fenugreek 1 tbsp.
- Flour 2 tbsp.
- Oil 1cup
- Curry leaves few
- Coriander leaves for garnishing
Method:
- Take green chilies, garlic, cumin seeds, red chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and red chili crushed.
- Grind them into a fine paste.
- In a pan heat oil.
- Fry onions till it turns its colour to pink.
- Add the grinded masala with little water.
- Then put curry leaves and dried fenugreek.
- Cook till the water dries now add fish.
- Take out seeds from the soaked tamarind.
- Put flour in the tamarind water and mix.
- Put this water in the fish.
- Cook on high flame till it starts to boil.
- When it starts boiling and gets thick lower the flame.
- Cook for another 10 minutes.
- Best to be eaten with boiled rice .
